Fta Receiver: Your Gateway to Unlimited Access to Your Favorite TV Channels:-

Have you ever had one of those days when your boss yelled at you for no reason at all, your mother in law called up and your kid brother got busted for overdoing the speed limit? At the end of the day all you want to do is put your feet and rest your head awhile before you turn n the TV in the express hope that you might not have to mull over your own problems if you could just escape into the comforting realms of the TV world.

So with all those great intentions in mind you turn on the TV and you finally find out that your fabulous day isn’t over yet. All you had to do is switch on the TV and you find that instead of a good movie your TV screen is spewing out static and noise, a result of the storm that was brewing in the night.

It’s at times like this that you begin to seriously contemplate suicide. Have no fear, free to air is here. What exactly is free to air and how do you intend to get it? Well free to air is basically a technology that allows you to access the world’s leading TV channels for free without having to pay for anything except the receiver set and the free to air paraphernalia that is a one time investment that usually does not exceed 50 dollars.

I’m sure that by now you want to know more about the FTA receiver and how you can get one. All in good time my friend. Let’s take one thing at a time.

A free to air receiver is something like a radio set. By tuning a radio either electronically or manually to the right frequency you can listen to the best radio stations that are available. You don’t have to pay for the radio channels and all you need to do is buy a radio.

Similarly the free to air receiver functions in much the same way. The free to air receiver is basically a satellite transmissions receiver that is programmed to receive all the unencrypted or unscrambled free to air satellite transmissions. It is usually able to decode the MPEG-2 compression protocol.

However one limitation that a free to air satellite receiver suffers from is that there are certain brands that are unable to decode the satellite transmissions of the Dish network and the DirecTV Satellite programming. To ensure that you don’t end up with a receiver of this kind always go in for the Viewsat or Coolsat receiver.

Usually a FTA receiver looks like a Dish Network or DirecTV receiver. Usually they can only be used with a TV set and not with a computer. Some versions do exist that can be used which are usually compatible only with a computer but such sets are only useful when you don’t have a TV set.

Whatever you decide Viewsat and Coolsat are the bets options and you should for either one of them. They offer the most features and back up support at the right prices.

Fta (free to Air) Receivers

Free To Air Satellite Receiver systems provided a variety of niche programming for those seeking foreign language, ethnic, and religious programming. There is some traditional television programming, but FTA satellite TV does not replace DirecTV, Dish Network, or your Basic Cable TV service. To get an idea of the type of programming available, review Their FTA Programming Chart. For most current Free To Air TV information, Free To Air uses the international MPEG2 Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) standard. DVB Satellite TV offers a better image quality, for most channels, this results in the best non HD TV you will witness. Free To Air Satellite Receiver Systems use a dish larger then your basic DirecTV or Dish Network dish, but generally always under 1 meter in size.

There are several receivers’ available and motorized mounts that allow users to take advantage of all the programming from various satellites, although more dishes are fixed on one satellite. A motorized mount is powered through the similar coax that carries the satellite signal from the dish to the receiver. The device located at the front of the receiver is called a Low Noise Block (LNB). The LNB lowers the frequency from the satellite frequency of 12 Ghz to a frequency appropriate for transfer over a standard RG-6 coax cable. More LNBS only provide a single receiver connection, but there are LNBS with two and even four coax connections. This allows for up to four receivers to be connected to a single dish only. Free To Air has involved over the last few years to include Digital Video Recorder (DVR) FTA Receivers and Multi-Sat dishes for simultaneous reception of up to 16 satellite orbits. The more common FTA receiver manufacturers are Pansat, Fortec, Coolsat, and the DVR FTA receiver from DreamBox.

While mostly used for access to religious and ethnic programming, Free To Air can appeal to almost every one looking to expand their television viewing options. If you don’t see the programming you desire you may find your satellite programming available from Globe Cast World TV, which offers subscription based international programming.

There are over a dozen Free To Air receiver manufacturers and the bulk of their business for years has been for the overseas and Europe markets. The DVB/MPEG2 format has been around for years and a better standard for satellite distribution. There are over 3000 free-to-air TV and radio channels available through out the world. With the correct size of dish their selection of FTA receivers will allow you to enjoy that programming selection. Many of these channels are foreign language channels from around the world. There are approximately 100 satellites that are available from around the world and available in North America. Various people of different nationalities want to listen or watch TV from their old homeland. Several ethnic cultures enjoy being connected with their heritage and that is why a free-to-air satellite receiver has been popular for years.

Free to Air Satellite Technology

Did you come across the word Free to Air satellite TV before? Even though you might have never heard of it, you might have seen it. People who adopted FTA satellite TV earlier on, used satellite dishes that spanned several feet in diameter and with the coming of digital video, consumers no longer are restricted to these large dishes.

You can receive Free to Air channels for free and there are hundreds of channels to choose from, it is great for international programming, FTA technology can be used as an educational tool to remote and distant villages where basic educational facilities are lacking with a receiver that can process the information from the satellite.

Free-to-air satellite technology is the most modern way of viewing television for free. One can watch the channels without any subscription fee whatsoever it is. Free-to-air programs are transmitted to satellite dishes, however, the receivers and file supports are necessary.

To be able to enjoy the FTA programs, there are various things you need to know, such as how satellite supports the channel you wish to view, the frequency of that FTA channel etc.

You do not need a huge plate at top of your roof that is bigger than your house; C Band or 6-foot satellite dish would suffice. However the new FTA programs now moved to the Ku Band system which is an FTA receiver with a remote control and a small dish will do.

Depending on the source of the FTA receiver, your file support may become necessary. You will need to ensure that your FTA receiver will provide for file support system that is available on a 24/7 basis. This is only to ensure that should any problem surface, you will be ready and able to control the problem

With the FTA satellite technology, you do not have to pay any monthly fees and your only are required to pay for the equipment, unless you would like to pay for installation as well. It is almost like receiving free local channels from an antenna, except that FTA uses a satellite to receive the digital programming.

Free to Air satellite technology can help you learn more about the other cultures and languages and with the diverse selection of channels you have at your fingertips, there are a variety of things to learn from. There are many channels in English too and many popular home schooling systems use Free to Air satellite technology for consumers to receive the educational channels.

All the programs received via free-to-air channels are unencrypted and it is broadcasted as it is and thus, the language will be the same at it is.

There are some disadvantages of Free to Air Satellite technology, now all of this might seem too good to be true, but free to Air satellite technology does have some issues. Since FTA satellites have been used as a testing ground, some channels are shown only for a limited period of time, typically the test channels are shown for several months.

Fta Satellite Receiver Becomes A Piracy Device

A FTA satellite receiver becomes a “Piracy Device” when it is proven in a U.S. Federal Court that the receiver has no real value or use for “True” Free-To-Air Satellite reception.

As I said in the past, the AZBox and Dreambox have Ethernet capabilities (an Ethernet port) and can be utilized for the internet, when using these receivers you can go to for example youTube, Hulu and IPTV sites. This is perfectly legal. The NFusion can not be used in this fashion. There is only one reason for NFusion IKS technology and that is for “Satellite Piracy.”

I mentioned in the past that Dish is going this route through court proceedings and they are going to win.

I have stated that an Australian Court has labelled a NFusion receiver a “Piracy Device” and has no legitimate use in “True” Free-To-Air applications. Apparently a Minnasota Federal District Court agrees, as in the case involving Dish Network versus Gustav Dobos.

Some of the highlights involving the outcome of this case are:

Case 0:09-cv-03448-JNE-SRN Document 8 Filed 01/28/10 Page 3 of 6

7. Defendant violated federal laws by offering to the public, providing, or otherwise engaging in the traffic of devices, components, and/or technologies that are primarily designed to circumvent and/or defeat Plaintiffs’ Security System and ultimately facilitate the unauthorized reception of Plaintiffs’ encrypted satellite signals and copyrighted DISH Network Programming.

Such devices, components and/or technologies include: firmware and software designed or used for piracy in connection with FTA receivers, Internet Key Sharing, Control Word Sharing, distribution of data or code for use in piracy, and nFusion-branded FTA receivers.

Defendant acknowledges and admits that each of the foregoing was primarily designed, marketed and used to facilitate piracy of satellite television programming.

Case 0:09-cv-03448-JNE-SRN Document 8 Filed 01/28/10 Page 4 of 6

(ii) has only a limited commercially significant purpose or use other than to circumvent Plaintiffs’ Security System, including the encryption and access control protection contained in the software on DISH Network Access Cards, or any other technological measure adopted by Plaintiffs that effectively controls access to copyrighted television programming on the DISH Network platform;

What it says is this receiver was primarily made to steal Dish Networks encrypted programming and aid others in satellite TV piracy by viewing D*sh’s signals un-encripted via IKS technology, it further goes on and says the NFusion receiver has a limited significant purpose other than to circumvent Dish Networks security features. The defendant (Dobos) agrees.

This Court also ordered a judgment in favor of DISH Network L.L.C (E*hoStar Technologies L.L.C. and N*graStar LLC) on each of the Plaintiffs’ claims and for breach of contract (Counts 1-5 in Plaintiffs’ Complaint) in the aggregate amount of Twenty Million Dollars ($ 20,000,000.00). And, should this defendant breach any part of this Final Judgment or Permanent Injunction, he shall be subject to damages in the amount of 0,000 for each such breach or violation.

So there is it, the NFusion branded boxes are not “True” FTA receivers, they are nothing more than “Piracy Devices” as per a Federal Courts decision. Dish Network has been fighting for this for quite awhile and it finally got it. The million is just a bonus.

A Quick Overview of FTA Receivers

Description of the Types of Receivers

The most usual type of FTA receiver appears just like an ordinary hardware box and is alike with Dish Networks receivers and DirecTV. Meanwhile, one other type of FTA enables people to receive “free to air” satellite transmissions on their computers. By simply looking at the physical attributes of Free-To-Air receivers, people can already find out its type.

Factors to Consider Prior To Using an FTA Receiver

Prior to buying and installing to your PC a receiver, there are a few factors that we must first consider to check the reliability, functionality, and efficiency of the device. For example, it’s best to know if the receiver that they want to install could feature an Electronic Program Assistance. It’s as well advantageous if it has the ability to zoom images.

When talking about radio frequencies, an FTA receiver should have the ability to see and copy 2 differing channels simultaneously. Furthermore, people must also know if the Free To Air receiver has interfaces for Dolby Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format and S-Video. This receiver must as well feature Blind Search Power Scan to distinguish different channels from a satellite. Finally, it’s very advantageous if we choose receivers with On Screen Displays.

Popular Manufacturers of FTA Receivers

For those people who have interest in buying these FTAs, they must purchase from manufacturers, which have good reputation in creating such device. Some of the best receiver developers all over the world are Fortec, Viewsat, and Pansat. Other FTA receiver manufacturers that excel in creating such equipment as well are Ariza, BlackBird, and Coolsat. Consumers could also buy receivers from Digiwave, Twinhan, and UltraStar.

Devices That May Be Added With Satellite Receivers

To improve the functionalities of the FTA satellite receivers, we may add many advance devices. For people who want to obtain transmissions, which follow C-Band and Ku-Band format, they must equip their receivers with satellite dish. They could as well add Low Noise Blockers to make the efficiency of the receivers improve. Meanwhile, for people who want to obtain frequencies or signals from many satellites, they could also make use of antenna motors.

Karin Daniel writes information and appliance review articles about FTAReceivers such as FTA Dish and what you must know about your FTAReceivers.

Free-to-air Satellite Technology

Are you an American who experience monthly satellite subscription fees that seems to be racing up towards the moon? I know that you will feel bad knowing that there are free-to-air channels that some people enjoy. It may help knowing what free-to-air is and the satellite technology that goes with it. Of course, satellite television channels require you to pay set-up fee and monthly subscription; they are encrypted and translated in English, thus you will need to subscribe to the satellite company that is doing the encoding.

However, if you enjoy multilingual programs, free-to-air channels will be a good option. You will not pay subscription fees and may enjoy various channels from other countries. You may however, need some gadget, but they will be less expensive comparing to the month subscription fees.

This article will give you a backgrounder about free-to-air satellite technology and what free-to-air viewing requires.

What is Free-To-Air Satellite Technology?

Free-To-Air (FTA) is a television or radio broadcast that is unencrypted. Mostly free-to-air programs are multilingual, no translation as mentioned earlier.

Free to air is a technology that transmits satellite signals, which people may receive without necessity of registration. Mostly, free-to-air channels are broadcasted from international sources and from small producers.

FTA satellite programs are transmitted using C-band, large satellite dishes or Ku Band, small satellite dishes. You will need a rotor, however, to receive more than one satellite channel.

What you will need to receive FTA broadcasts?

· A satellite dish (either C Band or Ku Band)

· Satellite receiver or PC card

· A rotor or an antenna motor to receive more than one satellite

What are the popular FTA Channels and Digital Satellite Channels?

· LyngSat

· King Satellite

· Sadoun

· PBS, a public education broadcaster

· SBS and ABC of Australia

· Maori Television

· Television New Zealand 1 and 2

These are only a few of the satellite channels you may possibly receive. However, because various countries such as Australia, India, Europe and New Zealand have FTA channels, there are more than two hundred channels you may view using FTA Satellite Technology.

Of course, there is a need for you to know the frequency of the channel and what satellite channels you wish to receive. You will also need to know the format of the FTA channel to help you receive them clear enough.

Free-to-air is a modern technology that follows the original concept that signals are send up to the satellite and send down to earth. Even small satellite dishes may receive FTA signals without necessarily paying for monthly subscription, which most Americans do. FTA is a good satellite technology; if you want free television then FTA is for you.

Evaluating FTA Satellite Receivers

FTA Satellite Receiver Types

Free-to-Air (FTA) satellite TV receivers are designed to receive unencrypted Free To Air satellite transmissions. FTA satellite receivers can decode the MPEG-2 data compression protocol used in most Free to Air satellite transmissions.

Evaluating Receiver Brands

Free-to-Air receivers are an investment, it is important to choose a brand-name receiver that is manufactured and supported by a reliable manufacturer.

Do not fall into the  Clone Trap. A clone will not save you more  than twenty dollars. You will never find a clone receiver whose quality equals that of the unit it purports to emulate.

FTA Receiver Features Evaluation Guide

General questions to ask when choosing your FTA receiver:
* Does the receiver have Blind Search Power Scan which will find all channels transmitted by a satellite?
* Does the receiver allow you to zoom into a picture?
* Does the receiver support true picture-in-picture?
* Does the receiver have a built-in PVR (Personal Video Recorder)?
* Does the receiver offer USB compatibility for easy software updating and attachment of external multimedia devices?
* Does the receiver allow you to view High Definition channels?
* Does the receiver have dual tuners, which allows viewing and recording of two different channels simultaneously?
* Does the receiver have a PIG/PIP interface?
* Does the receiver have an Electronic Program Guide (EPG)?
* Does the receiver have S-Video output?
* Does the receiver have Dolby SPDIF output?
* Does the receiver have an On-Screen Display (OSD)?
* Does the OSD allow you to move, delete, and rename channels?

Additional Equipment Needed to View FTA Satellite TV Programs:

In addition to a FTA satellite receiver, you’ll need to evaluate brands, models and pricing with respect to these components:

* A satellite dish (C-Band or Ku-Band)
* A LNB (Low Noise Block)
* An antenna motor, if you want to be able to turn the dish in order to receive channels from more than one satellite.

Fta Satellite Tv Files And Fta Support For Free To Air Receivers

FTA stands for Free to Air. This technology allows home owners to receive free to air signals from TV satellites without subscription. Many home owners install their own FTA satellite dish and they get to enjoy thousands of free channels. Mostly, the signals are unencrypted. But some signals may be encrypted and require special software before the channels can be viewed. Channels are also constrained by geographical location.

To watch free channels, you first need to setup the proper FTA equipment. On paper, setting up the equipment appears easy. All you need are two pieces of hardware – a FTA dish, and a receiver. The dish is connected to the receiver via a coaxial cable. The receiver is then connected directly to the television. You can easily purchase a dish from your local electronic store. Buy a C-band or K-Band dish.

The dish is usually installed on the highest point of the house – the roof. You are going to need some help installing the dish. One person should be up at the roof, trying to point the dish to get the best signal. Another person should standby at the television to see if the receiver is receiving good quality signals. If you have no experience setting up the dish, try to engage the help of someone who had setup an FTA dish before. Before you can view the content, you must remember to select the satellite on the receiver. Also, make sure that you have updated the firmware to the latest version. Once you have setup the hardware, you will be able to view additional channels on your TV set.

However, as mentioned earlier, some signals are unencrypted. You can easily view channels with unencrypted signals. But for those with encrypted signals, you will need to download FTA keys to view the content. The key acts as a password, and needs to be input into the receiver. The receiver then descrambles the encrypted signals that it receives. There are literally thousands of free to air channels that require secret keys. Keys are used by TV stations to control access to the content. Only subscribers get access to a key. However, FTA keys offer an economic alternative for those who do not have the budget to access the programs.

So where do you obtain such keys?

There are several companies on the Internet that you can go to for downloading of keys. By becoming a member, you get unlimited access to all the keys that are provided by the service providers.

Before signing up as a member, make sure that the support is adequate. Downloading keys is one issue, but installing the keys is a totally different matter. You are going to need help installing the keys. If you can’t get the keys to work correctly, the receiver is going to be useless to you.

Choosing The Right Fta Receiver ? Coolat Or Viewat

For the last few years or so, Free to Air Receivers or FTA have become very popular. This is because the dish of the standard size, which is used in Direct TV and Dishnet can also be used in these boxes to view a number of free to air channels beamed by different TV channels of the country as well foreign nations without having to pay any monthly subscription. These receivers have become so popular, that some people even make changes in the software of the sets so as to view those channels encoded for security reasons. But this is against the law. However, FTA receivers can be found in different formats quite easily, even in the internet as well.

FTA receivers are really worth our money even if we view only FTA channels through it. There are many companies that manufacture and market these receivers to the public, making it quite difficult to choose the right FTA receiver as well as to know the difference between the sets. However, good manufacturers, such as the Coolsat, Viewsat, SonicView and the Pansal manufacture products that are popular and have quality product support.

The Coolsat receivers are so simple that even an ordinary layman can use it without much trouble. It can be operated through the remote also, making its operation very cool. But there are some drawbacks for the Coolsat receivers, because its file support usually trails behind the Viewsat, by two weeks. However it can be updated with the latest software through the serial cable. You can have all the latest software updates from Good FTA.

The operation of the Viewsat receivers is not as simple as that of the Coolsat receivers, but they are strong and stable and have quality support. The programmers of the Viewsat releases updated files ahead of other Free to Air Receiver companies. However, there is a major drawback with Viewsat – its remote is very extremely inconvenient to use. But even then, if the product support extended by Viewsat is taken into consideration, Viewsat receivers should be our top choice. The Viewsat Xtreme 2000 is worth every penny because of the quality service that it provides. The Viewsat is also regularly updated through the serial cable.

Sonicview receivers are comparatively cheaper, but have a good performance like the Viewsat receiver, and are worth buying. Its remote is better designed but it lacks proper support. These receivers have a USB port in the front that can be used for updating by using a USB Pendrive, without the need of the serial port used by the other receivers. Considering its cost, buying a Sonicview is recommended, though slight problems may occur while scanning channels at high frequency.

If you have to choose an FTA receiver, remember that the Sonicviews are cheap, Coolsats are easy to use and the Viewsats have quick updates. So it’s up to you to make your choice. Or if you need help, you can post your queries at fta forum that has is manned by some of the most experienced guys in the business.

We run the largest FTA FORUM on the internet. If you need the latest FTA FILES and the newest FTA KEYS, visit us today! It’s a one-stop shop for all your FTA needs.

Fta Receivers, Fta Keys, and Fta Files

To choose an FTA receiver can be overwhelming but with information it becomes easier to make a good decision as to which receiver best suits you
for what you need.

Not only is there a variety of FTA receivers but there is a number of different prices and services that the receivers offer. The FTA receivers works by entering FTA keys that decode the signals and allow your TV to display thousands of channels. There is the basic receiver which introduces you to the wide world of TV for prices as low as 0.00. The next level of receivers run from 0-0 and then the top of the line receivers used for high definition go for 0-0. The more expensive the receiver the higher the quality the more features they come with.

Some of the new and advanced features that some higher quality receivers are equipped with are Electronic Program Guide (EPG), zoom into picture
programs and picture in picture set up. The receiver can also come with a built in Personal Video Recorder(PVR) and or dual tunes which means you can record a channelwhile watching another channel. There are other features such as S-video and a Blind SearchPower Scan that quickly locates all the channels being transmitted by satellite and last but not least the feature ON Screen Display(OSD) which allows you to move, delete and rename channels to make it easier to have the channels you want to watch quickly available.

To start your FTA system you will need a FTA receiver, a Satellite dish and a connection cord. The cord you are looking for is a satellite coaxal cable which are available at tons of different electronics stores. That’s it your ready to go. Thousands of channels and no rising monthly charges.

Occasionally FTA receiver will get “zapped”. This basically means that your TV channels will go down and you will need to update your box in order to get your channels back up and get you watching your satellite TV again. The updates that you need to find are called autoroll bin files. Autoroll bin files are files which automatically renew your keys. Keys are a series of numbers which you enter manually into your receiver to get your channels back up and running. This can become a pain in the neck because you can be required to enter these FTA keys multiple times daily. This is why people download autoroll files.

When buying an FTA receiver you should research the particular brand and model that you are interested in. This is very important because some of the boxes on the market today are absolutely amazing. They are easy to use and easy to setup while some other brands can be rather difficult and down right annoying to get working. One of the biggest things to keep in mind while buying a receiver is the downtime. When the receivers are zapped, which one is the first one to release new FTA files. This is probably one of the most important things to consider because being down for a long time without TV can be very frustrating and aggrevating. Some receivers will release new FTA files within hours of being zapped where as other brands can take days and possibly weeks.

FTA satellite TV testing is a hobby for many people and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. If you know this is something you would be interested in please make sure you do your homework before purchasing anything because they can be a little pricey and you want to make sure you get the receiver and satellite setup that you desire.

A Simple and Quick Glance at FTA Receivers

Known as a special kind of satellite receiver that is developed to detect unencrypted signals from different satellite dishes, Free-to-Air (FTA) receiver has the capacity to receive data that follow MPEG-2 formats. Since this receiver was created for this sole purpose, FTA receiver does not have the capacity of decoding satellite transmissions from DirecTV and Dish Networks. However, this receiver has distinct functions that individuals may find useful and helpful when it comes to television and radio broadcasting.

Description of the Types of the Receivers

The most common type of FTA receiver looks like a typical hardware box and is similar with DirecTV receivers, as well as Dish Networks. Meanwhile, the other type of FTA receiver allows people to receive free-to-air satellite transmissions in their computer systems. By just looking at the appearance of FTA receivers, individuals can already determine its type.

Factors to Consider Before Using an FTA Receiver

Before purchasing and installing an FTA receiver there are some factors that people should first consider to assess the efficiency, reliability, and functionality of the equipment. For instance, it is best to know if the receiver that they like to install features an Electronic Program Guide. It is also advantageous if it has the capacity to zoom pictures. Additionally, people should also consider whether the receiver can decode picture-in-picture transmissions and if it features a Personal Video Recorder.

When it comes to radio frequencies, an FTA receiver must have the capacity to see and copy two differing channels at the same time. Moreover, people should also know if the receiver features interfaces for S-Video and Dolby Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format. In addition, this receiver should also feature Blind Search Power Scan to detect the different channels from a single satellite. Finally, it is advantageous if people choose FTA receivers that have On Screen Displays.

Popular Manufacturers of the Receivers

For those who have interest in purchasing FTA receivers they should buy from manufacturers that have good reputation in developing such equipment. Some of the best FTA receiver developers in the world are Pansat, Viewsat, and Fortec. Other manufacturers that also excel in creating such equipment are Coolsat, BlackBird, and Ariza. Consumers can also purchase receivers from UltraStar, Twinhan, and Digiwave.

Equipment That Can Be Added With the Satellite Receivers

To enhance the functionalities of FTA satellite receivers, people can add several advance equipment. For those who want to get transmissions that follow Ku-Band and C-Band format, they should equip the receivers with a satellite dish. On the other hand, they can also add Low Noise Blockers to improve the efficiency of the receivers. Meanwhile, for those who wish to get signals or frequencies from several satellites, they can also use antenna motors along with the receivers.

FTA receivers are very useful equipment for transferring audio and video signals. With these technologies, people will not be able to get important information from satellite dishes. Thus, to maximize the use of these receivers, it is necessary that people assess the special features before they purchase, install, and use them in their homes.

Al about Free to Air (FTA) Receivers and Files

The free to air system, also known as FTA, is sophisticated satellite technology that allows you to watch television programs with any qualified FTA receiver, such as the  SonicView  system. With these such systems, a client is required to download an  FTA receiver program as well as various support files. Generally, there is no subscription requirement, and the available programming is unencrypted, though a client may have restricted channels based on geography.

Available FTA programming depends on geographic location and the satellite the client chooses to install on their house. With recent advances in technology,  HD FTA receivers and programming are also available. These programs are available to some clients from countries on opposite sides of the world, and as many as two hundred satellite and digital channels can be received using the appropriate receiver.

Apart from the FTA receiver program and support files, the client will also need to buy and install a satellite receiver dish on their house. If the client wishes to access the FTA programming available on different satellites, then an antenna motor will be needed to point the dish at multiple satellites, in order to make the most of what is offered by the FTA system.

There are many different FTA systems available for client use along with the  SonicView system, including ViewSat, K-Box, and nFusion. There are also various website hosts, such as CoolSat and ViewSat, which offer some of the best satellite receiver programs to prospective clients.

As with any other entertainment programming, there are commercials to interrupt your viewing sporadically, and some of them ask for donations. While it can be frustrating to sit through these disruptions, there is very little difference between the viewing of FTA programming and pay to view (PTV) programming. However, unlike with traditional PTV programming, there are no monthly fees for the client to worry about. The primary costs for the client include the HD FTA receivers  program, the support files, the satellite dish for their house, and the dish motor, if the client so chooses to install it. Depending on the client’s desires and location, additional support files may be necessary to correctly run the FTA programming. Technical support programs should be adequate to take care of any technical issues that may arise during use, but many FTA retailers offer additional support if the need reveals itself.

FTA systems are on the rise as PTV programming becomes more expensive to the average household. The cost of the FTA system is a one time issue, while PTV programming requires a monthly fee. Oftentimes, the PTV systems require little money for setup but the client never actually owns the hardware. Conversely, the FTV systems are completely owned by the client, never leased. The FTA systems are a viable option for the discerning client who wishes to experience in-depth visual entertainment with low cost, maintenance, and worry.

FTA Satellite Dishes: New Age Satellite Receivers

FTA satellite dishes are the new age satellite receivers that are gradually being accepted in the US and the world over. FTA stands for Free to Air and FTA receivers are basically a type of satellite receivers that has been designed in such a way that it can easily receive un-encrypted satellite transmissions. Using the FTA satellite dishes, you will be able to receive TV signals without the need for signing up for a subscription. The television signals are encoded in MPEG-2 video format and hence can be restricted geographically. There are some cities, regions or places in the world where encrypted FTA satellite channels can be accessed suing the VHF and UHF band while it might not be possible in some of the other parts of the world.

The several channels that are transmitted through the FTA satellite dishes can be received only by using a common and compatible MPEG-2 video satellite receiver. People across the world where this capability is available, people use FTA satellite dishes for receiving hundreds and thousands of satellite TV channels and all this is free of cost. The equipment that you will require to enjoy free TV viewing includes FTA receiver (you can always choose between Coolsat, Pansat, and Conaxsat) and a satellite dish that has the specifics to download the channels that you wish to watch. You can always visit http://www.satphire.com/ to make your choice of FTA satellite dishes and receivers. There are many other satellites that will require only a simple and standard DTV compliant dish, which you can find with ease at any of the satellite TV or even electronic stores.

Once you have the required hardware for FTA satellite dishes, you can start by putting up the dish and pointing it. In order to do this successfully, you need to have a coaxial cable that can run from the FTA dish to the FTA receiver; the latter will be connected to your television. Although pointing your FTA satellite dish is not very tough but if you have any second thoughts then it is better to hire an experienced professional to fix it on the roof of your house. You can also visit online websites offering support and information on pointing FTA satellite dishes. Some of the FTA support websites will also provide you with FTA keys, software, files, and updates as well as help you with troubleshooting. Basically, you can always buy FTA support so that you are able to resolve any FTA issues in the future.

Pointing an FTA dish requires you to use the options available on the FTA receiver for selecting the satellite that you should ideally point at. You might even need to load some of the firmware updates for this to work. You will then have to manually enter the FTA keys and this involves entering the set up screen of the FTA receiver and finding the key code section within the setup. One of the important things to remember here is that different FTA satellite dishes have different types of setup and FTA keys.

FTA Satellite Receivers: a Household Device

In the last five to six years the FTA satellite receiver has become an everyday household electronic device.  People all over the world are buying free to air receivers because of their growing and always evolving features and capabilities.  FTA receivers these days are gaining popularity all over.  Starting initially in Europe, the craze spread globally shortly after.  With FTA satellite TV being available in almost every country across the globe, FTA satellite is the wave of the TV future.

Free to air satellite TV channels are free.  You can connect your receiver up to multiple satellite dishes and point your dish at different satellites in space.  There are thousands of 100% free satellites in space with limited channels per satellite.  Some free to air channels include PBS, International channels, and locals.  These companies broadcast their signal for free.  The majority of people with FTA receivers don’t point their dishes at these satellites.  Infact, people all over the world including North America are reprogramming their boxes so they can point their dishes at real satellite TV and watch channels for free.   This is actually where FTA keys come into play.  In order to watch FTA satellite TV this way.  You need to be constantly entering what are called FTA keys or Dish keys into your receiver so that your receiver can keep itself updated with the satellites in space.  This enables you to watch TV.

Because the keys are constantly changing and always need to be entered manually each time a key change occurs, this presents a problem and inconvenience to the user.  This is why people program files called autoroll bins on to their receivers.  Autoroll files automatically roll the keys over to the new keys everytime they change.  These are what people often refer to as FTA fixes.  FTA fixes fix your receiver essentially by getting your channels to work with very little human interaction other than initially programming the new FTA file to your receiver a few times a year.  FTA files don’t work forever, they also go down from time to time and the user will have to load the new autoroll bins.

Usually people get their autoroll bin files from sources like FTA Support websites.  FTA Support sites offer a complete support service to their members giving them all the software, files, keys, and online technical support they’ll ever need to keep themsselves always up and watching TV.  FTA support sites usually include online support and troubleshooting via email and they usually have all the downloads and setup instructions you’ll ever need to get your receiver working all the time.

FTA receivers are getting bigger and better offering new innovative and experimental ideas and technologies that keep them interesting all the time.  Many new features FTA receiver owners have learned to love are 7 day EPG (electronic program guides), PVR functions (record, pause, and rewind live TV), DivX movie watching capabilities, and many more little features and add-ons that keep things very interative and enjoyable.

FTA Receiver

With cable and satellite companies dominating the world of television lately, it can be difficult to find ay alternative. With the price of programming as his as it is, as well, there’s a driving need for some people to find an unconventional entertainment source. Fortunately, there’s an option out there that’s not only different, it’s cheap!

The system is known as free-to-air, or FTA, and it requires only an FTA receiver in order to work properly. FTA receiver is much like any other satellite or cable box. FTA works by downloading a programming package and additional support files into the FTA receiver. The homeowner must purchase and install an FTA satellite on their house in order to receiver FTA programming. However, once this initial purchase has been made, there are few other costs, as there are no subscription fees with the FTA system.

FTA channels are unencrypted, so any qualified FTA receiver can pick them up. Channels may be limited somewhat due to geography and what satellites are available to link up with. Areas like central Australia, the American Rockies, and the African Plains may not receive as many channels as, say, New York City or London due to the fact that there are fewer  best satellite receiver aimed towards less populated areas.

As with regular satellite and cable programming, also known as pay-to-view, or PTV, FTA programming has its share of commercials. Some commercials are actually donation requests; since there are no subscription fees for the FTA system, the providers of the service have only the sale of the FTA receiver and satellite to offset the costs of providing the free programming. These donation commercials give information on how to submit donations via phone and the internet.

The use of  FTA receiver and satellites has been on the rise lately. The cost of traditional cable and satellite PTV programming has been getting more costly every year, mostly due to tax increases, the increased price of even the most basic programming packages, and the gas tax that some companies now add to offset the price of their company vehicles. Because the FTA system has been getting more and more use, however, it’s also been getting more and more criticism. Some see FTA programming as a threat to the PTV cable and satellite companies.

Whatever the future of FTA receivers and satellites, the reality is that there’s a no subscription cost alternative to tradition PTV satellite and cable systems.
